About twenty percent of a traditional Incandescent bulbs energy output is light, the remaining eighty percent is simply heat loss. Placing your hand near to a halogen light source for instance, the high heat transfer into the air is apparent, and of course this sort of wastage is simply not acceptable taking into account both our planet and your energy bills. Remarkably with LED technology the reality is almost the exact reverse. A well cooled LED unit with an optimum power supply should output about eighty percent of its energy through light and only twenty percent through thermal loss. The real dividends are paid off when banks of LED lights are installed and power savings are multiplied.
Marine Lighting
The Marine industry was one of the first sectors to adopt LED technology into the mainstream. The two qualities of LED's which most appeal to the marine industry are low power consumption and low heat output. Marine Vessels can only carry and generate a limited amount of energy on-board, therefore the energy savings represented by LED technology is a very attractive prospect - more lights can be turned on and for longer. Heat management on ships is a minefield of a subject, air conditioning often runs full pelt on vessels in hotter climates and huge amounts of energy are expended in maintaining the optimum environment for people and equipment. Marine Environments are also often constricted from a space point of view as well so the high running temperatures of halogen technology is also problematic. LED light fittings offer a technology alternative which reduces heat output dramatically thus saving money through energy savings on air conditioning and creating a more liveable environment.
Architectural Lighting

Whether a client needs to replace existing fittings or for a brand new build, Waltham is ready to assist. Waltham Led products can be run from a 240v driver, making them as convenient to install as halogen lighting. The biggest difference will be lower bills and running temperature when compared with halogen lighting, potentially having the knock on effect of reducing air-con running costs.
